What
about wheelchair access? Most places are accessible.
Newer properties have built in features, where
as older hotels are often retrofitted, and require
security assistance to operate lifts, etc. Ask
casino employees for access ramps and elevators.
The Mirage and Bellagio have guest rooms with
lifts in the bathrooms. The Dolphin Exhibit and
Secret Garden at the Mirage are wheelchair accessible.
All showrooms have wheelchair access - mention
this when you buy tickets and you will likely
be seated first. Tell valet parking you have a
wheelchair, and they will usually allow you to
unload at the curb. The Imperial Palace won an
award for their accessibility for the disabled.
Bally's is all wheel chair accessible, with 54
special rooms that include roll-in showers, lower
fixtures and peepholes, a visual alert system,
and raised electrical outlets. They also have
special restaurant seating, accessible slot machines,
ramps. The monorail to the MGM Grand is wheelchair
accessible. Both Harrah's and the Tropicana have
low, wheelchair height blackjack tables.
All
CAT buses are lift equipped and accessible. Some
airport shuttles can handle wheelchairs. The Las
Vegas Convention Center is wheelchair accessible.
Go to the Visitors Center on the NE corner of
Convention Center Drive and Paradise for an accessibility
map. There is an elevator and bridge to the CC
from the Visitor Center
